Accessibility Statement
Last updated March 7, 2026
Our Commitment
We build accessible websites for our clients. It would be embarrassing if our own site did not meet the same standard. This site is built to conform with WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and we test it using the same methods we use on client projects. Accessibility is not an afterthought here. It is the foundation the site is built on.
Conformance Target
This website targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. WCAG 2.2 is the current international standard for web accessibility, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Conformance is an ongoing effort. We evaluate the site against this standard during development, before significant updates, and on a regular review schedule. The goal is full conformance, not approximate compliance.
Technologies
This site relies on the following technologies for accessibility conformance:
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- WAI-ARIA
- Next.js (React)
The site is designed to work with current versions of major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) and their built-in accessibility features.
How We Test
We apply the same testing methodology to this site that we use for client accessibility audits. That includes:
Automated testing
axe-core and Lighthouse scans to catch programmatic issues: missing labels, ARIA misuse, color contrast failures, and structural problems. These tools reliably identify about 30% of real-world accessibility barriers. They are where we start, not where we stop.
Keyboard navigation
Every interactive element on this site is operable with a keyboard alone. We test tab order, focus visibility, skip links, and focus management across all pages and components.
Screen reader testing
We test with JAWS (Windows), NVDA (Windows), and VoiceOver (macOS and iOS) to verify that content is announced correctly, navigation is logical, and interactive elements communicate their state to assistive technology.
Visual testing
Browser zoom up to 400%. Text reflow at narrow viewports. High contrast mode. We verify that content remains readable and functional across these conditions.
Cognitive review
Clear language, consistent navigation patterns, predictable interactions, and respect for motion preferences via the prefers-reduced-motion media query.
Known Limitations
We are not aware of any current accessibility barriers on this site. If you encounter one, we want to know about it. See the section below for how to report an issue.
Reporting a Barrier
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site, please tell us. We take these reports seriously.
You can reach us by:
- Email: ModernSoftworks@gmail.com
- Phone: (208) 918-0613
When reporting an issue, it helps to include the page URL, a description of the problem, and what assistive technology or browser you were using. But do not let the details hold you up. A simple "I could not do X on page Y" is enough for us to investigate.
What Happens After You Report
Here is what to expect:
- We will acknowledge your report within 2 business days
- We will investigate the issue and determine the cause
- If the barrier can be fixed, we will fix it and let you know when the update is live
- If a fix requires more time, we will provide a workaround while we work on a permanent solution
We do this for a living. Accessibility reports are not an inconvenience. They are how the web gets better.
